Artifact of the Week: Transformers: Age of Extinction Projector Watch

I’ve seen, and have, quite a few of those weird unlicensed Transformers items you see at import and discount stores, but this one was so odd, I just had to do a blog on it.

The first odd thing is obvious. Instead of the Age Of Extinction Logo with a big number 4, it’s got a 6. That’s just bizarre, but it gets weirder when you look at the watch itself.

The watch face say Dark of the Moon, but shows Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Drift. Drift was not in Dark of the Moon. His first appearance was Age of Extinction. It gets even odder when you look at the band.

You can see that the numbers in the logos on the band and the package are the same font as they have the same protrusion at the bottom right of the number. If you look at the left of the number, you can see the one on the band does not go all the way up. Clearly the one on the band is a 5 instead of a 6, also the wrong number for Age of Extension.

On the back the logo does not have the sand background used for Age of Extinction, and says Dark of the Moon below it.

And finally, take a look at the images the watch is supposed to project. They are from Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, Revenge of the Fallen, and the first movie. There are also G1 images, one that looks like it’s from War Within, and a couple that I can’t identify at all. This watch is a truly strange jumble of mismatched pieces. I’m not sure what drugs the person who designed this was on, but it must have been one hell of a trip.

As always, you can find over 18,000 Transformers artifacts from every Transformers series and generation at TFMuseum.com.

Thanks for reading!
