Transformers Legacy Deathsaurus with Eaglechest, Tigerchest, Boater, Pipo
Boater and Pipo
Boater and Pipo are the two bonus Micromasters included with Deathsaurus to complete the Micromaster Rescue Patrol. The other two members were included with Victory Saber. These were a late added surprise bonus, but I don’t know why. After doing two members of a four member team with Victory Saber, to not include them would have been moronic on Hasbro’s part. (As it was with all the other Micromaster Patrols and Squads that we only got part of.) So, I’m really glad we got them to complete the team. They both look great. Both are based on the animation from the Japanese series, which is why Boater is not colored like the toy.
Eaglechest and Tigerchest
Shame on Hasbro for changing their names. They are correctly named Eaglebreast and Tigerbreast. Clearly a decision made by some boob. (See what I did there?) Anyway. I did not need them to transform into weapons. Eaglechest’s is a box with barrels sticking out, but I love Tigerchest turning into a bow. Tigerchest is definitely the better of the two.
Accessories
He comes with a base and a bunch of stupid blast effects. These are not all his accessories.
Deathsaurus
Beast Mode: In dragon mode he looks pretty great, but I do think he loses something without the silver chrome head. I know this is based on the animation, which is why it isn’t chromed, but he would look better with the chrome. He can hold his cannon in dragon mode, which I assume is something he did in the animation.
Robot Mode: In robot mode he is fucking awesome. What the beast mode loses without the chrome head is more than made up for in robot mode. No matter what configuration you have him in, he looks amazing. The colors are perfect. He has lots of molded detail. I love him with the bow. I am really glad we go the thrown. I think I like him best sitting on it.
Overall: I still like the original better, but Deathsaurus is a great toy.
