Transformers: Generations: Siege Amazon Exclusive Fan Vote Battle 3-Pack (Aragon, Decepticon Impactor, Holo Mirage)

Powerdasher Aragon

Previous Mold Use: Siege Deluxe Cog

Aragon is based on the G1 Powerdasher car version. Vehicle mode looks fine. I like the new head sculpt. Aragon is not bad looking, but I think I like this mold looks better in Cog’s colors.

Decepticon Impactor

Previous Mold Use: Siege Deluxe Impactor

Why in the name of Devastator’s balls did we need an Impactor with an IDW head? Was IDW just too incompetent to draw his head correctly to begin with? Why would someone decide to not draw a character correctly? Really, I shouldn’t be surprised. This is the same company that gave us Ultra Minimus and God Complex Wingblade. As to why he’s a Decepticon, I’m sure that’s more IDW crap. Anyway, the toy has very few changes other than the new head. There are a few different paint apps, but that’s about it. They should have done a complete repaint rather than this garbage, or better yet, another toy altogether.

Holo Mirage

Previous Mold Use: Siege Deluxe Mirage

So, I really like translucent Mirage. I like the light blue plastic they chose for the parts that couldn’t be translucent. What I just don’t understand is why he has a different head. Not sure why he has two heads at all. Why not put something else in the mold? They could have included a head for an homage to the Gobot Crasher. That would have been a really cool repaint. Maybe do a non combining Drag Strip. And even if they wanted to have both Mirage heads available, then why would the color version have an animation head, and the translucent version have a toy head? If they were going to do two heads for the same character who has two different forms, then it should have been swappable (it might be, I didn’t try to remove it) like so many Marvel Legends figures have. Doesn’t matter as one isn’t painted, and the other isn’t translucent. If you want a toy version color mirage or an animation version translucent mirage you’re shit out of luck. Much like the weapons left out of so many toys in this line, if its part of the mold anyway, what is it costing them to include an extra part that was already made? Admittedly, this one would have needed a paint app or two, but still. Do better, Hasbro.

Overall: I love that the Powerdashers are getting homages. They are pretty much a footnote to the G1 Transformers line. I give Hasbro credit for this, but when you look at how badly they failed in other areas, homages the Pretenders, giving us just a handful of them for example, the good just doesn’t outweigh the bad, but this is a great toy. Impactor, why? Mirage is cool. I suppose the set is worth it for Mirage and Aragon, but honestly, I think I would have been less annoyed with an unchanged Impactor than this one.
