Transformers: Age of Extinction Nikko Radio Controlled Optimus Prime and Bumblebee

In the past, we’ve seen RC cars that transform, but I don’t think there have been an official one that does it.  Maybe those horrible TF Prime ones, but I don’t recall if those transformed automatically.  These get it right.  They work great and look great.

The weapons have to be placed in his hands and removed before transformation, but they look pretty good all things considered.  Truck mode is absolutely awesome.  These are the best looking RC toys ever even forgetting that it can transform.

The above video shows the transformation.  It is smooth and has transforming sounds similar to what they have in the movies.  It’s hard to hear the audio, but when he gets into robot mode he says, “My name is Optimus” and it’s Peter Cullen’s voice!  That’s the coolest part.

Bumblebee’s car mode looks even better than Optimus Prime’s truck mode.  Absolutely awesome.  He’s got a really great head sculpt and I like that they included his star shield.

You can’t really hear Bumblebee’s voice in the video, but I’m not sure they used any specific voice actor for it.  He says, “I am Bumblebee.”

Overall: At $50, these are expensive, but they are so cool, it’s hard not to recommend them.
